It’s cup action this week as Brislington First welcome AEK Boco First in what promises to be a lively local tie.
Both sides have had mixed fortunes in the opening weeks of the season. Brislington come into the game after a tough run in the Premier Division, with defeats to Ivybridge, Paulton and St Blazey, but also showed their firepower in a thumping 7–1 win over Nailsea & Tickenham. Cup football could provide the perfect spark to reset and build momentum. AEK Boco, competing in Division One, have been equally up and down. They battled out draws with Calne, Cheddar and Avonmouth, grabbed a big 4–0 win at Odd Down, but also slipped to defeats against Bitton and Malmesbury Victoria.
Last season, each side saw their run in this very competition ended by Clevedon Town — Boco exiting on penalties in the first round, while Bris made it to the last 16 before bowing out.
With local bragging rights and a place in the next round at stake, this one has all the makings of a proper cup tie.
