Brislington FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Josh Egan as the club’s new First Team Manager.

Josh returns to Brislington with a deep connection to the club, having progressed through Brislington Juniors before featuring for both the Under 18s and senior side during his playing career.

After coming through the ranks at Brislington Juniors, Josh went on to play for clubs including Cheltenham Town, Blackpool, Bath City, Weston-super-Mare, Chippenham Town, Mangotsfield United and Larkhall Athletic before returning to Brislington as part of a hugely successful spell for the club.

During his time back at Bris, the club secured the league title in his first season before following it up with promotion through the play-offs the following year.

Josh then moved into management with Roman Glass, where he guided the club to consecutive second-place finishes across two seasons.

Speaking following his appointment, Josh said:

“It feels great to be back. There are a few new faces around the club alongside some familiar ones, but there’s definitely a different feeling around the place now. There’s a real energy and excitement building, and I’m looking forward to getting started in this role.”

On what attracted him back to the club, Josh added:

“Having been part of the club before and now seeing the direction it’s heading in was a massive pull for me. There’s a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes to move the club forward and help it reach its full potential. I want to be part of that journey and help drive the club in the right direction.”

Discussing his ambitions for the squad and the season ahead, he said:

“My vision for the club and the squad aligns perfectly with the ambitions of everyone involved. This is an important club in Bristol and, from my previous time here, I know what success looks like both on and off the pitch.

We had a winning mentality and a really close-knit group, and that sense of unity is something I want to build again. Bringing together the players, staff and supporters will be key to creating stability and success long term.”

Chairman Jack Rogers also welcomed Josh back to the club, saying:

“Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the position. The calibre of applicants throughout the process was exceptionally high, which made for some difficult decisions and reflects the continued ambition and reputation of Brislington Football Club.

“Josh impressed us throughout with his passion, professionalism and clear understanding of both the game and the club itself. As someone who previously represented Brislington as both a youth and adult player, he already understands the values, expectations and community that make this club special.

“We are genuinely excited to welcome Josh back in this new role and believe his appointment provides a fantastic opportunity to build a period of stability, continuity and long-term progression both on and off the pitch.

We look forward to supporting him as he begins this next chapter and are excited about what can be achieved together in the seasons ahead.”

The appointment follows a thorough recruitment process and the club would like to thank all applicants for their interest and time throughout the process.

Everyone at Brislington FC would like to welcome Josh back to the club and wish him every success in the role.
