VETERAN FOXES RETURN: BRISLINGTON TO ENTER VETS LEAGUE

Updated: Jun 25

Brislington FC Launches New Veterans Team Ahead of 2025/26 Season

Brislington Football Club is delighted to announce the formation of a brand-new Veterans (Over 35s) team, subject to approval at the upcoming Bristol Corinthians League AGM. This exciting step will see the club expand its offering and reconnect with former players and supporters, as we look to continue fostering community and competitive spirit both on and off the pitch.

Pending approval, the team will enter the Bristol Corinthians League’s Over 35s Division - a well-established, inclusive league known for combining a competitive edge with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and camaraderie. With over seventy teams competing across the region, including familiar names such as Chipping Sodbury, Clevedon United, Yate Town and Cribbs, the league represents the perfect environment for experienced players who still have a passion for the game.

The new side will be led by none other than club legend and former long-standing First Team Manager, Jeff Meacham. With deep roots in the club and a passion for nurturing talent, Jeff’s involvement ensures the team will embody the very best of Brislington values - experience, commitment and heart.

Club Chairman Jack Rogers said:

"We’re thrilled to be launching a Vets side for the 2025/26 season. This move reflects our club’s growth and ambition, but also our commitment to creating opportunities for players of all ages to stay involved in football. The Bristol Corinthians League’s ethos of respect and good humour aligns perfectly with our values, and having Jeff at the helm is the icing on the cake. We can’t wait to get going."

The Bristol Corinthians League - originally founded in 1995 as the Bristol Casuals League - caters to Over 35s, Over 45s and Over 50s footballers across Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and South Wales. Central to the league is the “Corinthian Spirit”: the belief that how the game is played matters more than the result. With its unique invitation-based entry system, the league prioritises sportsmanship, community, and a passion for the game above all else.

We look forward to confirming our place in the league and seeing the new Brislington Vets team in action in the near future.
