MATCH REPORT: BRISLINGTON 0-2 CLEVEDON TOWN

Tuesday 29th July 2025 - Poplar Insulation Stadium, Matchday 2

Brislington’s first home fixture of the season saw a packed Poplar welcome a much-fancied Clevedon side tipped to be among the title contenders. The game began evenly, with both teams enjoying spells of possession but struggling to carve out clear chances.

That changed on 22 minutes when Seb Scott curled in a superb free-kick from more than 20 yards, giving Schofield no chance and handing the visitors the lead. The goal shifted the momentum, and Clevedon began to dominate.

Early in the second half, they doubled their advantage through Henry Westlake, who calmly slotted home after a neat passage of play. Brislington worked hard to stay in the contest and ensured the scoreline remained respectable, but they rarely threatened to turn the tide.

No points were realistically expected against a Clevedon side who’ve had the beating of Bris in recent seasons — and look even stronger this year. While the result followed a familiar pattern, there were still encouraging signs in the performance. This Brislington group looks committed, and their graft suggests they’ll give their manager and the Bris faithful plenty to get behind as the season unfolds.
