Brislington FC is proud to announce its intention to re-establish a Women’s Team ahead of the upcoming season, marking the formal return of women’s football to the club.
This is a strategic, long-term decision and a significant step forward for Brislington FC — not a short-term or token initiative. The Women’s Team will be a fully integrated and embedded part of the club, forming a core element of its sporting, community, and development plans.
Women’s football will receive equal respect, visibility, and commitment within the club structure. The team will not operate as a bolt-on or standalone entity, but as an integral part of the wider Brislington FC identity.
A Proud History, A Continuing Legacy
Brislington FC has a strong and successful history in women’s football. The club’s previous Women’s Team enjoyed a sustained period of success, including more than nine consecutive league titles and promotion to the FA Women’s Premier League. That team was forced to disband as a direct consequence of the Covid period and the widespread disruption it caused to grassroots football.
The club views this relaunch not as starting from scratch, but as continuing a proud legacy.
The Right Time, The Right Opportunity
The timing of this initiative aligns with the significant growth and increased profile of women’s and girls’ football at a national level. The success and visibility of the England Lionesses have inspired participation and ambition across all levels of the game, creating a strong opportunity to build a sustainable and competitive women’s programme at Brislington FC.
The club’s vision is to establish an organised, ambitious, and stable Women’s Team with long-term foundations — doing things properly rather than rushing into short-term solutions.
Who We’re Looking For
Brislington FC would ideally welcome discussions with an established women’s team that may be seeking a new home or a fresh start, preferably with an existing management and coaching structure in place.
The club is also open to conversations with experienced managers or coaches interested in building a new squad under the Brislington banner. Players who want to be part of a new and ambitious project are equally encouraged to make contact.
Any team, staff, or individuals joining the club must align with Brislington FC’s values, culture, and long-term vision, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, commitment, and a positive team environment.
Club Support & Infrastructure
Brislington FC is committed to supporting the Women’s Team properly — not simply in name. This includes access to appropriate facilities, a strong matchday setting, and full inclusion across the club’s digital platforms, media output, branding, and promotional activity.
The Women’s Team will benefit from an established committee, robust infrastructure, existing welfare and safeguarding structures, and a growing supporter base.
Community & Pathway Ambitions
The club sees the Women’s Team as playing an important role within the local community, helping to inspire future generations of women and girls to get involved in football.
Longer term, the ambition is to develop a clear and sustainable pathway linked to Brislington Juniors and their girls’ teams, creating opportunity and progression rather than focusing on short-term success alone.
Expressions of Interest
Brislington FC is open to initial informal and confidential conversations to explore alignment before progressing further.
Expressions of interest are welcomed from:
Established women’s teams
Managers and coaches
Players interested in joining a new project
All expressions of interests and enquiries please email jack@brislingtonfc.com
Brislington FC is a progressive club, committed to growth, community, and opportunity — and this marks an exciting new chapter in the club’s future.
