It’s a break from league action as Brislington head north on Friday night for an FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round clash with Thornbury Town.
The hosts come into this one with mixed recent form. In their last five outings they’ve shown resilience, drawing 2-2 with both Cribbs and Highworth, while also recording an excellent away win at Tuffley Rovers. They also enjoyed Vase success in the previous round, running out 2-0 winners at Shirehampton, but have slipped to defeats against Longlevens and Worcester Raiders.
For Brislington, confidence will be high after last week’s thumping 7-1 victory over Nailsea & Tickenham. Manager Matt Lewton loves a cup run and will be urging his side to seize the momentum, with his strikeforce looking sharp and full of goals. At the same time, it has been a busy few days off the pitch, as new additions continue to be sought to bolster the squad with a number of regular starters expected to be unavailable for this one.
The new young faces already involved have injected real energy and excitement, something that has not gone unnoticed by the Brislington faithful. All the ingredients are there for a thrilling Vase tie under the lights, and we hope you can come along to support the Foxes on what promises to be an entertaining evening.
