Brislington head west for the second week running, this time making the trip to St Blazey. After a dramatic week of highs and lows, the Foxes will be hoping for a calmer afternoon - and a result closer to last weekend’s comfortable win at St Austell rather than the midweek setback.
New manager Matt Lewton was quick to put Wednesday’s defeat into context, pointing to the early loss of goalkeeper Jordan Schofield after just 16 minutes. Schofield now faces a spell on the sidelines, and at the time of writing Bris are still working to finalise a replacement keeper in time for kick-off.
Lewton must also contend with other key absences, hardly ideal preparation for only his second game in charge. For their part, the hosts may see this as a chance to capitalise, with St Blazey still searching for a first win of the campaign in league or cup.
Last season Bris claimed a league double over the Cornish side, including that unforgettable 8–0 triumph on opening day. This time, though, Lewton’s focus will be on getting his side through what promises to be a very different encounter.
