Brislington are back under the lights at Ironmould Lane this evening as they take on Street in Western League Premier Division action. Both sides will be looking to push up the table after testing opening months in league and cup competition.
🔴 Brislington
Since Matt took charge, Brislington have endured one of the most demanding spells of the season — a run that has included eight matches across league, FA Vase, and Les Phillips Cup fixtures. Despite the hectic schedule, performances have shown steady improvement, with encouraging signs that the team are beginning to find their rhythm.
Matt has been incredibly unfortunate with injuries, particularly to key areas of the squad. That has inevitably forced a significant amount of transfer activity, in some cases simply to field a competitive side. Amongst those changes, however, a number of key additions have arrived, and Matt believes things are beginning to settle.
“It’s been a challenging few weeks,” he said. “But we’re starting to build a more balanced squad. Once we get a bit of consistency in selection, I’m confident the results will follow.”
Brislington will be hoping to channel that stability into a positive performance tonight and continue their improvement at home.
🟢 Street
Street travel to Bristol on the back of two confidence-boosting league wins — 6–2 away at Nailsea & Tickenham and 6–0 at home to AFC St Austell. Those results, against the bottom two sides, have reignited their attacking form and lifted them clear of the lower reaches of the table.
The Cobblers have shown flashes of real quality throughout the season, particularly in cup competitions, and will be looking to extend their good run with a third successive league victory.
📊 League & Form
Just three points separate the sides going into this one, making it an early chance for Brislington to close the gap and gain valuable momentum ahead of a more settled spell of fixtures.
⚽ Previous Meeting
The two clubs met on the opening day of the season, when Street edged a close contest 1–0 at The Tannery. Brislington will be looking to reverse that result tonight and showcase the progress made since Matt’s appointment.
Prediction: Both teams will fancy their chances, with Street buoyed by recent goals and Brislington showing clear signs of cohesion returning. Expect a determined home display as the Foxes look to turn promise into points.
Up the Foxes! 🔥
