Brislington are back on home soil this Saturday as they host Sidmouth Town AFC in their first home weekend fixture of the new league campaign.
Visitors Sidmouth Town make the trip up from Devon after a historic promotion to Step 5, having been crowned champions of the South West Peninsula Premier Division East in 2024–25. This marks their debut season at this level, and they arrive as something of an unknown quantity.
Sidmouth’s only league outing to date was against Clevedon Town — the same side that handed Brislington a tough opening home day defeat. While Brislington were well beaten on the day, Sidmouth came agonisingly close to taking a point, conceding late to fall to a narrow 1–0 loss. However, Sidmouth will take heart from their FA Cup progress, having beaten Ivybridge Town in an all-Western League clash.
Brislington, on the other hand, suffered late heartbreak in the same competition last weekend, exiting 3–2 to Wokingham & Emmbrook after conceding in the closing stages. Kington’s side will need to put that disappointment behind them as they look to get their first points of the league season on the board.
