KIT DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF ELMER

Alan 'Elmer' Shepherd July 1937 - July 2023

Brislington Football Club is proud to announce that the first team kit for the upcoming season has been kindly donated in memory of a beloved friend and long-time supporter of the club – Alan ‘Elmer’ Shepherd.

A familiar and friendly face at both first team and reserve fixtures for many decades, Elmer’s unwavering support, good humour, and quiet dedication left a lasting mark on everyone at the club. Whether cheering from the sidelines or arriving on his trusty bicycle – often with a bunch of freshly picked nettles from the lane – Elmer embodied the community spirit at the heart of Brislington FC.

In recognition of his legacy and in heartfelt tribute, the name ‘Elmer’ will appear proudly across the front of this season’s first team shirts, in place of the club’s regular sponsor branding.

Club Chairman Jack Rogers shared his thoughts on the tribute:

“Elmer was more than just a supporter – he was part of the fabric of this football club and a friend to so many. His presence, warmth, and loyalty over the years meant so much to the club. It’s only fitting that we honour him in this way, and we hope it brings pride to his family and friends.”

Brislington FC extends its deepest thanks to those who made this special tribute possible. Elmer will be missed, but his memory will continue to inspire both on and off the pitch.
