Club Announcement: Lee Perks to Step Down as Brislington FC Manager at End of Season
It is with mixed feelings that we wish to announce that Lee Perks will be stepping down as First Team Manager at the end of the current season, bringing an incredible 10-year tenure at the club to a close. Lee has been the driving force behind some of the most memorable moments in Brislington FC’s history.
Chairman Jack Rogers expressed the club’s gratitude, saying: “On behalf of everyone at the Brislington Football Club, I want to express our gratitude to Lee Perks, who has decided to step down as first team manager at the end of the season. Lee’s association with our club stretches back to 2008, during which time he has been a player, first team assistant manager, reserve team manager, and, most memorably, our first team manager. His loyalty, passion, and commitment to this football club have been nothing short of extraordinary.
Lee has been at the helm for some of the most defining moments in our history. From becoming Champions of the Western League Division One, and last season’s unforgettable play-off victory that secured our return to the Premier Division, to reaching the final of the Somerset Premier Cup, his leadership has delivered countless highs. However, he has also stood firm during some of the club’s toughest challenges. These include the incredibly difficult decision to take voluntary relegation, as well as the unprecedented challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw many clubs and teams fold. Through it all, Lee’s resilience, dedication, and love for the club have been an inspiration and integral to the clubs survival.
This decision, made by Lee himself, has been reluctantly and regretfully accepted by the board. There are few who have shown such unwavering devotion to our club, and we are delighted that Lee has assured us of his continued involvement on the committee. His expertise and deep connection to the club will remain an invaluable asset as we move forward.
We are proud of the long-term commitment and stability that defines this club, having had just two managers in the past 20 years. This tradition will guide us as we search for Lee’s successor, with further details to come in due course.
For now, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lee, as well as to Richard, Neil, and Ash, for the immense time and effort they have given to the club over the years. We wish Lee the very best for the remainder of the season and look forward to continuing to work with you as part of the club’s future.”

Plans for the managerial transition will be announced in due course. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Lee’s decade of service by showing your support for the team as we aim to finish the season on a high.
Thank you, Lee, for 17 incredible years. You’ll always be part of the Brislington FC family!
